VeriGreen is an independently owned Energy Management company that was founded as a direct result of our “greening” experiences in 2007-2008 at our sister company, VeriForm Inc. VeriForm is a Cambridge, Ontario based metal fabricating company that, like most such companies, was too busy with the day-to-day activities necessary to fill orders and develop new customers. High energy costs were just part of the business until owner Paul Rak decided to take a look at a few simple, yet promising, ideas to reduce costs.
The results of his initial research and the return on his initial green investments were so substantial that he found himself spending considerable time researching, sourcing, testing, and measuring a wide variety of simple, effective energy-saving solutions. Paul has documented over 5,000 hours on his green initiatives but the payoffs have been huge.
In fact, VeriForm increased the size of their fabricating plant by 145% while at the same time reducing their monthly electricity cost by 58%. Along with several other initiatives that were not technologically challenging or expensive, Paul increased the company’s annual operating profits by 76%.
As news spread about Veriform’s stunning success with its Green Strategy, Paul was inundated with requests to show others how it was done. He quickly became a much-sought-after presenter at local “green enterprise” forums and VeriForm’s story was recounted in a number of local business publications. Demand for his unique Facility Audit process grew and, as a natural outcome, VeriGreen Inc. was founded.
